The Fractional CTO & Architectural Pathfinder.
For over 25 years, I have navigated the evolution of modern computing—from the early "Linux Era" of high-availability bare-metal architecture to cloud-native DevSecOps, identity verification, and API security. My unofficial title has always been The Pathfinder. I help founders cut through the noise, bypass architectural traps, and find the straightest line to technical maturity.
Throughout my career at companies like PayPal, TransUnion, and Wallarm, I engineered systems that secure enterprise data and handle millions in transactions. I even co-authored a payment tokenization patent used by eBay and PayPal. What this journey taught me is that true scale requires structural independence. Today, I use that experience to guide startups away from the silent margin-killer of proprietary SaaS lock-in, steering them toward sovereign, open-source technology frameworks.
My architectural convictions aren't theoretical. They were forged across three distinct phases of the tech industry:
Before the cloud was a buzzword, I was configuring high-availability, 99.999% uptime Linux/Apache/Nginx clusters and deep-tuning PostgreSQL databases. This deep infrastructure foundation means I know exactly how things run at the system-kernel level—knowledge that is vital when designing lightweight, self-hosted container architectures like Proxmox and LXC today.
During tenures at PayPal, American Express (Accertify), and TransUnion, I specialized in tokenization, fraud reduction, and building bespoke architectural pilots. Moving into the modern era, I led Identity Verification (IDV) and Zero Trust architecture projects at Jumio and Nevis AG. I understand exactly how the world's largest financial and healthcare institutions protect user endpoints.
As an interim and consulting Solutions Architect for API security leaders like Wallarm and enterprise database giants like EnterpriseDB (EDB), I saw firsthand the surging risks of multi-tenant cloud vulnerability and exploding API vendor costs. Today, I combine my deep systems security, database background, and GTM strategy to act as a Fractional CTO—giving startups complete SaaS independence.
